A song or so.

Sometimes I wonder if I write songs that represent my soul, or if they are manifestations of the things I don't want inside anymore. Either way, here's a song or so to start my posting again.

THE BURDEN. by, Me

The burden’s upon you, the proof is here.
Discussing discussions, loud and clear.
The weight won’t uplift you, the anger you fear
The thought of regression, the burden is here....

Does your halo get too heavy
Was it me that made you sin
Will you ever become ready
For the ending to begin

History reminds us
Where it will begin
If you’re so damn holy
Give me your sin...

Can he ever restore you, you’re insane.
Can you even admit, you feel pain.
Mired in the transgressions, of your past.
Keep feeding the feeling, make it last...

Did you ever get any splinters
Did you ever bleed
While you carried the cross this winter
Seeking what you need

History reminds us
Where it will begin
If your so god-damned holy
Give me your sin...

You talk of virtue, and honesty.
You say you love me, but I see.
The truth is a burden, that we bear.
And it has left you, were you aware?

INTO THE FOLD by, Me

Into the fold, and out of the fire
Acceptance is slow, the differences wired
Dare to behold, witness the pyre
Are we martyrs? No, we’re liars.

The numbness is deafening.
Perception is everything.
Happiness cannot last.
Spiraling downward fast.
I need ...to get...away
My fears....returned....today.
The dark....the loss...regrets
The things...I haven’t....seen to yet.

Out of control, never felt fine
You keep your misery, I have mine
Unthink the thought, undo the crime
I’d try to save you if I had the time.

The numbness is deafening.
Perception is everything.
Happiness cannot last.
Spiraling downward fast.
I need ...to get...away
My fears....returned....today.
The dark....the loss...regrets
The things...I haven’t....seen to yet.

The future is dead, the past never came.
Put me through hell, and it’s all the same.
Tired of lies, don’t play the game
Who can I admire, or maybe blame?

I suspect it's a little of both - an attempt to understand where you're at so that you know HOW to get to where you want to go.

And a damn fine attempt, too. I wish I could squeeze meaning out of words like that.

not all Grau, There was the Taco Bell Parody about being queer, and lets never forget the "Man, I feel like a Roman" song.

Hello from Las Vegas. I was doing research on how to get backstage pass and came across your site LittleJoe. The title A song or so. attracked me. This is good reading, I'll pass it on to my girlfriend. She likes this kind of stuff. If you or any of your readers can help or offer information on how to get backstage pass let me know. Glad I ran into your inspiration. I like to read blogs for creative ideas and themes. I get a lot of good ideas for acting. Thanks again for your time. Keep it up.

Hey, LIttleJoe - It's been a while, glad to see you again. Those are dark, but they have power ... 'Into the Fold' especially (to me).
